Lab & X-Ray
When it comes to our patient’s health, South Lake Pediatrics prides itself on being responsive and thorough. Each of our four locations is equipped with an on-site laboratory and x-ray.
Lab
From strep tests to complete blood counts and urinalysis, we are able to get answers to parents more quickly–often within minutes–as well as determine the most effective treatment for each child. Our laboratory is COLA certified and our staff is well trained and experienced in venipunctures, finger and heel sticks, and will make every effort to ensure your child’s visit is the best experience possible.
Lab results
Some tests are completed and discussed with you during your visit but, some tests take longer to complete. Your clinician will explain how and when you will receive test results.
External lab testing
Some lab tests are complex and require special equipment or lab personnel expertise. In these cases the samples will be sent to a quality reference laboratory. This can save valuable time when your clinician is relying on your lab results to diagnose your child’s illness. You may receive a separate bill from the reference lab for their services.
X-Ray
While each of our four locations is equipped with x-ray, our Chaska location uses the imaging center located in their building. All of our x-rays are read by a radiologist at Children’s Radiology and the result is available 24 hours after they receive the image. The final result will go to your Pediatrician or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Upon your request, we can send your image to an outside specialty appointment. You may receive a separate bill from Children’s Radiology for their services.
