Choosing the Right Clinic
How in the world do you choose a primary care clinic for your child? We hope the following information will help you narrow down your search.
First, consider a pediatrician versus a family practice doctor. Pediatricians are specifically trained in children’s health.
Second, think geographically. Should your clinic be close to home, work, or daycare? Somewhere in between?
Third, what’s important to you? Same day appointments? Saturday appointments? Seeing the same doctor at each visit? Is after-hours care available?
Then, consider the clinic’s philosophy and feel. A lot can be said for that gut feeling that says ‘yes’ it’s a good fit, or ‘no’ this just doesn’t feel right.
And finally, talk to family and friends. Check out the clinic on social media. If you’re new to the neighborhood or just moved into town, try talking with other parents – at school, work and home.
