We are proud to announce that South Lake Pediatrics' Dr. Matt Segedy was named a "Top Doctor" by Mpls. St. Paul Magazine for 2016. We are inspired by his hard work and compassion for children and their families.
The magazine released its 20th annual Top Doctors edition on June 11. The magazine recognizes doctors, nominated by their peers across the metro area, for their exceptional care. Mpls. St. Paul Magazine's Top Doctors rankings are determined by a survey sent to 5,000 physicians and nurses in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Survey participants are asked to nominate one or more doctors (excluding themselves) whom they would choose if they or a loved one were seeking medical care. The candidates who made the final list were evaluated on indicators of peer recognition, professional achievement, and disciplinary history.
Congratulations, Dr. Segedy!

2014-Minnesota Community Measurement (MNCM) report, South Lake Pediatrics was one of the state’s four top-performing pediatric groups. South Lake Pediatrics achieved above-average ratings more frequently than other clinics on three of the five clinical measures reported: optimal asthma care—65 percent, compared with the statewide average of 24 percent; treatment of colds—97 percent, compared with the statewide average of 89 percent; and sore throat testing—97 percent, compared with the statewide average of 88 percent. South Lake also scored higher than the state average of 73 percent for immunizations. The report recognized South Lake Pediatrics for making the greatest improvement since 2009 dates of service in childhood immunizations, jumping more than 12 percentage points.

South Lake Pediatrics was the recipient of Medica's 2012 "Raising the Bar" innovations award, which highlights the work of provider organizations that are improving quality, increasing patient satisfaction, and ultimately decreasing the cost of health care. We were awarded in November of 2012 for designing a depression care management program for children in our clinics, fostering collaboration between primary care and mental health providers to achieve timely, appropriate mental health care. As a result, the hospitalization rate for depression was 61% lower than outside the program, with a rate of 3.4% vs. 8.8% in a control group.
