If you have questions about any of our services, please feel free to call 952-401-8300 or you may schedule an appointment with one of our health care providers.

Comprehensive Asthma Program: With this program, we can treat asthma as we treat the whole patient. By creating a personalized asthma action plan, we help you manage asthma within the context of your child’s overall health. Your program will include up-to-date education, treatment and follow-up.

Allergy Injections: Ongoing management of allergies is often critical to the well being of children; yet regular treatment can be time consuming. South Lake Pediatrics can work with your allergist so that your child can receive allergy shots at our office. We hope this is an “extra” step saver for you.

Adolescent Health: Our doctors and nurses help you anticipate and manage the physical and emotional health of teenagers. We want to help you cope with the challenges that children face as they grow.

Prenatal Visits: We invite parents-to-be to make a free “meet you” appointment. You can meet with one of our Pediatricians or CPNPs, and start a relationship with them – a relationship that will grow as your child grows. We’ll talk about breastfeeding, your well check schedule and any questions or concerns you may have.

Lactation Consultants: Our Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (CPNPs) are trained and certified by the The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. While some hospitals offer this lactation consulting, South Lake Pediatrics is uniquely positioned to offer moms a one-to-one ongoing relationship. Each of our six offices has a CPNP available to help you with your breastfeeding questions and needs.

Newborns Who Need Special Care: We have established strong working relationships with neonatologists to provide expertise for the high-risk newborn, both during delivery and during the initial critical stage.

Parent Education: A tradition since 1981, South Lake Pediatrics sponsors a Parent Education Workshop in the fall and spring of each year. Local and national experts speak on a variety of parenting or child development topics, presenting information that helps make the hard job of parenting a little easier.

Medical Home: The Minnesota Medical Home Project of the Minnesota Department of Health is now 3 1/2 years old and South Lake Pediatrics has been a participant since it's second year. South Lake Pediatrics' participants have included two parents of children with special health needs, two clinic supervisors and one physician who have attended twice yearly state level training and in-clinic meetings every other week. South Lake Pediatrics has concentrated on developing and maintaining care plans for the more complicated children with special health needs that include health history abstracts, medication lists, and consultant contacts. We have devised ways to make these care plans available electronically to other caregivers 24 hours a day and provided printed copies of the care plans to the families of the children with special health needs. South Lake Pediatrics has collaborated with 30 other clinic groups in the state to develop methods of identifying children with special health needs and developing billing and other procedures to make the improvement of communication around such children a practical and self-sustaining effort.

Uninsured Patient Program: South Lake Pediatrics proudly announces it's new Uninsured Patient Program (UPP) for children and youths who do not have health insurance. UPP underscores the clinic's philosophy of ensuring that all children at every stage of development get needed preventive care when they're well, and timely medical care when they're ill. Clinic administrators report that many children who lack health insurance may be eligible for a state or county program that will provide health coverage. Unfortunately, these professionals say, too many parents are unaware that they qualify for these programs, or they don't know how to enroll in them. UCare Minnesota, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Preferred One Health Plan, and others, helped fund UPP with South Lake Pediatrics because they share the goal of offering preventive care and treatment for illness for children in need. Moreover, UPP helps parents of eligible children apply for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare. Payment plan options, billing statement help, and interpreter services are available.
